About Us

Emily Joáchim initiated and runs this project and has recently completed her PhD on UK Little Owl breeding ecology at the University of Reading. Her research focuses on the influence of habitat, weather and predators on breeding site occupancy and performance in Little Owls. She helps to monitor 1100 nest boxes for Barn Owls, Kestrels, Tawny Owls and Little Owls in Wiltshire and works closely with nest recorders. Emily will host the 7th International Little Owl Symposium.

Andy Rouse is a multi-award winning wildlife photographer who adores Little Owls. In 2013, Andy published his stunning Little Owls - Living on the Edge book, which focuses on the lives of three different UK Little Owl families. The photography is simply stunning; it uses all of Andy's talents at wide-angle, action, portrait and fine art photography. Andy continues to assist UK Little Owl conservation projects and has kindly donated his beautiful Little Owl photographs. Thank you Andy.

We're very grateful to Keith Fielding for his meticulous development of this beautiful website, the sightings report form and for coding the map. We are also grateful to BigWetFish for their website hosting support.
